Maplecrest Living is an independent tutoring practice operated by Laxmi Tamang as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom. These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between you (the parent, guardian or adult student) and me when you book any of the programmes offered on this website.
By booking a programme you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms in full. If you are booking on behalf of a student under the age of 18, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and are authorised to enter into this agreement on their behalf.
I provide one-to-one online tuition and academic mentoring in the subjects listed on my website. Every programme is delivered personally by me via video call. I do not employ any other tutors and I do not sub-contract sessions.
The scope of each programme (number of sessions, subjects, format) is described on the Services and Pricing pages and is agreed in writing before delivery begins.
All programmes are booked online via secure Stripe checkout. Payment is taken in full at the point of booking. I am unable to reserve a programme place until payment has cleared.
All prices are quoted in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable UK taxes. As a UK Sole Trader I am not VAT-registered at the time of writing; if that changes, existing bookings will be honoured at their original price.
Sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement at the start of each programme. Where a programme includes multiple sessions, we will normally set a recurring weekly slot to give the student a consistent rhythm.
Rescheduling requests made at least 24 hours in advance will be accommodated wherever possible. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be treated as delivered.
Full details are set out in the Attendance Policy. In summary: please arrive on time, ready to learn, in a quiet distraction-free space with a stable internet connection.
Every session is delivered in accordance with my Safeguarding Policy. I expect all students and adults present in the household to behave respectfully during sessions. I reserve the right to end a session and terminate an agreement if a student or accompanying adult behaves in a way that is abusive, threatening or otherwise incompatible with a safe learning environment.
All resources, worksheets, notes and materials I create and share remain my intellectual property. You are welcome to use them freely for the student's personal learning. They may not be resold, redistributed or published, in whole or in part, without my written permission.
I do not record sessions by default. Where recording is requested (for revision or safeguarding reasons), it will only take place with the informed written consent of the parent or guardian, and recordings will be handled in line with my Privacy Policy.
I take great care in the delivery of every programme. However, I cannot guarantee a specific grade, examination outcome or academic result, as these depend on many factors outside my control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total liability arising out of or in connection with any programme is limited to the amount you paid for that programme. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
Refund arrangements are set out in the Refund Policy and form part of these Terms.
Either party may terminate an ongoing programme by giving reasonable written notice. Where a programme is terminated, remaining fees will be handled in line with the Refund Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
