Learning Agreement

Last updated: January 2026. Maplecrest Living is independently owned and operated by Laxmi Tamang as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom.

1. Purpose

The Learning Agreement sets out what a student, parent and I each commit to at the start of a programme, so that everyone knows what a successful engagement looks like.

2. My commitment as your tutor

To plan every session in advance. To arrive on time and prepared. To deliver clearly-structured lessons with defined objectives. To share written progress notes at agreed intervals. To respond to messages within one business day.

3. The student's commitment

To attend sessions on time. To arrive in a quiet, distraction-free space with the required materials. To attempt homework thoughtfully before the next session. To ask questions when something is unclear.

4. The parent's / guardian's commitment (for under-18s)

To support the student in maintaining a regular study rhythm. To ensure a suitable learning environment at home. To communicate any changes in circumstance that may affect learning. To engage with progress notes and periodic check-ins.

5. Reviewing progress

Progress is reviewed at least once per term for ongoing programmes. Reviews are collaborative — the student's voice is always included.

6. Ending the agreement

Either party may end the agreement by giving reasonable written notice. Any remaining balance is handled in line with the Refund Policy.
